Recently, a news website reported that the CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, is frequently frustrated when individuals keep asking him about the ranking algorithm that the mega search engine uses. Reportedly, people keep asking why the Google refuses to reveal its 200 factors in ranking list.
To his recurring question, Schmidt revealed that the reason why Google does not share its algorithm is that there is no tangible factor in making their rankings. The company prefers not to publish the algorithm and idea of how everything works because the algorithm itself undergoes a number changes as fast as the changes and development normally come in technology. In connection with this, they would rather not deal with the scrutiny of the search engine optimization community with every change.
The company is also concerned that if they share their extremely valuable algorithm, some SEO groups and online marketing communities might abuse it instead. True enough, if Google revealed their algorithm, not only those who wish to use it for good have the knowledge. Once the algorithm is shared, some people who are up to no good may use and abuse the system.
For now, the best thing that SEOs can do is to attempt to analyze the changes that Google has made with every update. Most of the changes that Google makes are not that extreme. This grants people who are concerned in search engine optimization to research more and learn as they go. It is advised for those who are relatively fresh to SEO to first harness the basic concepts of SEO instead of going head to head with new algorithms.
Harnessing search engine optimization as well as online marketing will always be challenging for any aspirant and SEO companies. It is then a sign of a good SEO company to be able to adapt to the frequently changing Google algorithm and at the same time present results that are integral in the world of search engine optimization.
